Here on our rugged edge of Speyside, The Cabrach Distillery will distil, mature and bottle a Single Malt Scotch Whisky of unparalleled provenance and repute, in harmony with our Highland rural community, heralding the return of real Cabrach whisky after a long sleep of 170 years.
Because of the unique purpose and limited scale of our distillery, bottlings will be scarce and much sought after.
Importantly, The Cabrach Distillery is a social enterprise, the very first Community Interest Company of its kind, with future ‘profits with purpose’ legally enshrined to further progress The Cabrach Trust’s regeneration vision.
As a purpose-driven, community-owned distillery, this project aspires to meet the highest social and environmental standards. To achieve this, The Cabrach Distillery will attract and retain a talented local workforce, embed sustainability across our operations, and pay meticulous attention to raw materials, including Inverharroch home barley.
With mashing and fermenting via our half-tonne mash tun and six wooden washbacks, our highly limited, hand-crafted Single Malt Scotch Whisky will be born from small Forsyths stills, cooled by traditional worm tubs, with the majority of casks maturing here in The Cabrach.
The Cabrach Collective is our cohort of founding champions. Our small community with an inside line on news and insights as the Cabrach Distillery takes flight and our wild spirit patiently matures in fine casks.
If you are reading this, the chances are that there’s a wildness inside you: an inquisitiveness, a passion for exploring new - and old - things. So we invite you to become part of The Cabrach Collective and join us on our journey to revive the long-lost craft of whisky-making in The Cabrach, whilst playing a part in restoring a proud community like few others.
